Accountability@Work ..

“This is a must-read book for anyone who is involved in the business of making or keeping promises.”

Siobhan McHale, author of The Insider’s Guide to Culture Change

Accountability@Work

“You can count on me” is a phrase we don’t hear often enough in the workplace. It is the language of accountability – and putting accountability at the heart of any business can be transformational. In my step-by-step guide, I’ll show you how to master the promise-making process – both as the one who holds others to account and the one who commits to deliver – and establish a lasting culture of accountability. In today’s world of remote working, VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity), empowerment and agile work practices, accountability has to be re-imagined.

This book will help you to consistently:

  • deliver your promises, and have others do the same
  • hold others to account through an environment of psychological safety
  • use accountability to increase agility and freedom to act
  • maximise your productivity and capacity to perform
  • make lasting culture change within your organisation
  • build your reputation as someone people can count on.

Book Reviews

“This pocket-size book breaks down something incredibly complicated into simple steps that are easy for anyone to follow. It is so easy that you are left wondering why you aren’t doing this already – but therein lies the magic of Carolyn’s work, she has the art of making something very hard very do-able. I will definitely be buying this book for my team to ensure we drive the culture of accountability by adopting this approach.”

Caroline Barth, Chief Human Resources Officer at Lonza

“Accountability is critical to the functioning of any business. Carolyn Taylor has spent years developing a road-map that allows you to create a scalable system of accountability. Packed with useful tips and advice, this is a must-read book for anyone who is involved in the business of making or keeping promises.”

Siobhan McHale, author of The Insider’s Guide to Culture Change

“Making and keeping commitments is probably the most efficient way to gain the trust of others, whether they be our bosses, colleagues, subordinates, customers, or even friends and family. In this book Carolyn Taylor shows how to do this, and why the people who do it – those who “walk the talk” – are more likely to transform their work environment, the culture of their company, and the society in which we live. Her teachings have very much helped my constant effort to create a culture which is centered authentically on the best interests of our customers

Candido Bracher, President Itau-Unibanco bank, Brazil

“Carolyn’s unique approach in driving individual and collective accountability helped me and my team discover new levels of ambition and outpace the speed of change in the US healthcare environment.”

Fabrice Chouraqui, CEO at Cellarity, ex-President Novartis Pharmaceuticals US

Walking The Talk

When I wrote this book, my intention was to put down on paper what I had learnt through walking alongside so many leaders and organisations who were journeying through culture change.  Because it is based on real experience, rather than a more academic, theoretical approach, it is very accessible and immediately applicable.  My reputation is for taking complex, often esoteric concepts and making them straightforward and practical, and this book is a reflection of that style. This is the same style I apply to all my interactions with clients and large groups of leaders, and what I will bring to your organisation if I have the chance to work with you.

The book is recognised throughout the world as the most practical and actionable book on culture available on the market.

Book Reviews

“A resource that promises to present in its chapters a clear roadmap that sets out the journey all organisations big or small will need to take if they truly seek to align their organisation onto a new pathway of success. Built on the foundation of wide experience, lengthy research and in-depth analysis, this book answers the questions you have not even realised you need to ask. And if that was not enough it also carries the corporate scars of an author who has learnt as much from research as they have from the University of Hard Knocks.

If asked what is my single most important influence from this book, it must be the ability of the author to embed in her writing an energy and animation that has taken her words and turned them into a living and breathing guide that gets inside you, under your skin and acts like a generator boosting your thought processes, inspiring your imagination and setting you free from historical constraints that have limited your potential thus far.”
